Weighing is always more accurate than measuring by volume.

Why do a cup of flour and a cup of sugar weigh different amounts?
Density. Flour is light and full of air; sugar crystals pack tightly; honey is denser still. That is why a recipe in grams is reproducible and one in cups depends on how you fill the cup.
Spooned or scooped?
These figures are for flour spooned into the cup and levelled. Scooping the cup into the bag packs it and adds 20–30 g — the commonest reason home-baked bread and cakes come out dry.
US or metric cup?
A US cup is 236.6 ml (called 240 in practice); the metric cup used in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and many European kitchens is 250 ml — about 4% more. UK recipes mostly use grams.
How accurate is this?
Within about 5–10%: brands, humidity and how you fill the cup all matter. For bread and pastry, weigh; for a stew, a cup is fine.
