About affiliate epc

How the affiliate epc calculator works

Earnings per click is total commission divided by clicks: what a click is worth on average, whatever happens to it. Programmes and networks quote it per click or per hundred clicks; the calculator gives both.

It decomposes into conversion rate × order value × commission rate, so the rows show which of those a weak figure comes from.

Formula: EPC = sales × order value × commission ÷ clicks; EPC per 100 = EPC × 100

Worked examples

InputsEarnings per clickNote
Retail programme$0.18720 commission; 18 per 100 clicks
Software, high commission$1.201,800 commission
Low-priced goods$0.02200 commission

Frequently asked questions

Why do networks quote EPC per 100 clicks?

Because per-click figures are small and hard to compare; per hundred they read as whole numbers. Both express the same ratio, and the calculator gives the two together.

What is a good EPC?

It depends on the niche: financial and software programmes can pay several units per click, while low-priced consumer goods pay cents. Compare programmes within a niche, and compare the EPC with what the same traffic earns from advertising.

Should I use gross or net sales?

Net of returns and cancelled orders, once the programme has reversed those commissions. Early figures overstate EPC until the return window closes.

How does cookie length affect this?

A longer attribution window credits more of the sales a click eventually leads to, so the same traffic shows a higher conversion rate and EPC. When comparing programmes, note the window beside the rate.
