Food & Nutrition Calculators — Australia

Kitchen arithmetic: ratios, scaling and timing. The proportions are the same in every kitchen; only the units and the wording follow local practice.

Baking & dough
Baker's Percentage Calculator
Turn baker's percentages into real weights — flour, water, salt and yeast — and see the hydration that decides how your dough handles.
Open calculator →
Pizza Dough Calculator
Work back from how many pizzas you want to the flour, water, salt and yeast — with the ball weight that suits your pan or peel.
Open calculator →
Sourdough Starter Calculator
Work out what to feed a sourdough starter at any ratio — and how much flour and water the levain actually contributes to your dough.
Open calculator →
Cake Tin Conversion Calculator
Swap a recipe from one cake tin to another — round or square, any size — with the batter adjustment and a sensible change to the baking time.
Open calculator →
Oven Temperature Calculator
Oven temperatures across Celsius, Fahrenheit and gas mark — with the fan-forced adjustment and what it does to the cooking time.
Open calculator →
Baking Substitution Calculator
The right quantity of a substitute for a common baking ingredient — eggs, butter, milk, sugar, flour — from how much the recipe calls for and which replacement you are using, with the ratio behind it and what to expect from the swap.
Open calculator →
Yeast Conversion Calculator
Swap between fresh, active dry and instant yeast without changing how the dough rises.
Open calculator →
Self-Raising Flour Calculator
How much baking powder (and salt) turns plain flour into self-raising flour for a recipe.
Open calculator →
Egg Substitute Calculator
The quantity of a chosen egg replacement for the number of eggs in a recipe — flax or chia egg, applesauce, banana, silken tofu, yoghurt, aquafaba or a commercial replacer — and what each is good for.
Open calculator →
Cups to Grams Calculator
Cups converted to grams for the ingredient in your hand — flour, sugars, butter, oats, rice, cocoa, honey and others — because a cup of flour and a cup of sugar weigh very different amounts.
Open calculator →
Butter Conversion Calculator
Butter in every measure a recipe might use — sticks, cups, tablespoons, grams and ounces — from whichever one you have.
Open calculator →
Cooking & temperature
Oven Temperature Converter
Convert oven temperatures between Celsius, Fahrenheit and gas mark — and between fan and conventional, which is the one most recipes forget to tell you.
Open calculator →
Rice Water Ratio Calculator
How much water for how much rice, by type — with the cooked yield and how many it serves.
Open calculator →
Roasting Time Calculator
How long to roast a joint or bird by weight and how you want it done — with the resting time and the internal temperature that actually decides it.
Open calculator →
Brine Calculator
How much salt for a wet or dry brine — by the percentage that actually controls the result, with the sugar and the timing.
Open calculator →
Cooking Measurement Converter
Convert between cups, spoons, millilitres, grams and ounces — with the density of the ingredient, because a cup of flour and a cup of sugar are not the same weight.
Open calculator →
Turkey Cooking Time Calculator
How long a turkey takes and when to put it in — with the thaw time, resting time and the temperature that actually matters.
Open calculator →
Brine Concentration Calculator
How much salt a brine needs at a given strength — and the equivalent dry-cure weight, which is the same chemistry with far less water.
Open calculator →
Air Fryer Conversion Calculator
Turn an oven recipe’s temperature and time into air-fryer settings.
Open calculator →
Fresh to Dried Herbs Calculator
How much dried herb replaces a fresh one, and the other way round.
Open calculator →
Dry to Cooked Weight Calculator
What a dry weight of pasta, rice, grains or pulses becomes once cooked, and how many people it feeds.
Open calculator →
Egg Boiling Time Calculator
How long to boil an egg for a runny, jammy or hard yolk, adjusted for its size, whether it came from the fridge, and your altitude.
Open calculator →
Steak Cooking Time Calculator
How long to cook a steak on each side for the doneness you want, from its thickness — and the temperature to pull it at.
Open calculator →
Turkey Thawing Calculator
How long a frozen turkey (or any large bird or joint) takes to thaw safely in the fridge or in cold water, and when to start.
Open calculator →
Ham Cooking Time Calculator
How long to heat or cook a ham by weight and type — fully cooked bone-in or boneless, spiral-cut, or an uncooked fresh ham — with the internal temperature to aim for and when to glaze.
Open calculator →
Coffee & alcohol
Coffee Ratio Calculator
How much coffee for how much water, at any brew ratio — for filter, French press, pour-over or a full pot.
Open calculator →
ABV Calculator
Work out alcohol by volume from the original and final gravity of a brew — with the attenuation that tells you how far fermentation actually went.

Alcohol Dilution Calculator
How much water to add to bring a spirit down to the strength you want — and what volume you end up with.
Open calculator →
Standard Drinks Calculator
How many standard drinks — or UK units — are in a glass, bottle or round, from its size and strength.

A day's caffeine from coffees, teas, energy drinks and colas — at the caffeine each typically carries, which you can adjust — against the usual adult limit, with the amount per kilogram of body weight and how many more of your main drink the limit allows.
Open calculator →
Drink Chilling Time Calculator
How long a can or bottle takes to reach drinking temperature in the fridge, the freezer, or a bucket of iced water.
Open calculator →
Priming Sugar Calculator
How much sugar to add at bottling so home-brewed beer carbonates to the level you want — allowing for the CO₂ already in it.

About these calculators

These calculators use ratios and physical constants rather than nutritional advice. Weights are more reliable than volumes in baking — a cup of flour can vary by 20% depending on how it is filled — so metric weights are given throughout with imperial alongside. Roasting times are guides to be confirmed with a probe thermometer, not substitutes for one.
