How the goal progress calculator works
Compare two fractions — progress made ÷ target, and time elapsed ÷ time available. If progress is ahead of time, you are on track. The pace needed from here is what remains divided by the days left; the projected finish extends your rate so far to the target. Works for savings, pages written, kilometers run, sales closed or anything with a number and a deadline.
Formula: required pace = (target − current) ÷ days left; projected finish = today + (target − current) ÷ (current ÷ days elapsed)

FAQFrequently asked questions
What does the ratio mean?
Progress share divided by time share. Above 1 you are ahead; 0.8 means you have done 80% of what an even pace would have achieved by now. It is the single number to watch week to week.
Why is the projected finish so different from the deadline?
It assumes you keep the average pace you have held since the start. If you started slowly and have picked up, it is pessimistic; if you front-loaded effort, optimistic. Recompute with a later start date to use only your recent pace.
Does it work for money goals?
Yes — target is the amount, progress is what you have saved, and the pace row is the daily saving now required. It ignores interest, which for a short goal is a rounding error.
What if my goal is not linear?
Many are not — training builds, sales close at quarter end. Use the calculator as a check on whether the shape you expect is actually appearing, rather than as a rule.
